Yet another action packed weekend,
one that saw us take another step forward in the development
of our bikes.
A HUGE congratulations goes out to my dear
friend Steve Whiting who got married this weekend.
Although I wasn't able to be there bud, I was thinking about
you! Congrats again!
Thank yous!
OK, a superhuman effort here from our team painter Rob
Burns. After my "oops" from the Seattle round
just seven days ago, Robbie jumped on getting our 600 back
to form. Rob, I don't know how you do this stuff so fast,
but we appreciate you and all your efforts, thank you!
Again, fast food racing (Jeff and Francie LaMarche)
brought their hospitality and phenomenal food to cater to
the team this weekend. I can't tell you guys how much this
support improves the weekends. Thank you! :o)
Tom, Chris and everyone at Pirelli. Thanks for the
tremendous support and belief in me!
And last, but not least, I have to thank my crew chief Don
Beck. Don's efforts and skills have taken us forward in
big ways this year. Without him we would not be where we are.
Thanks Don!
Video:Morning Practice

Notes on practice:
Practice went well as the times seemed to be coming relatively
easily. I spent my time focusing on the details of each lap
and how I could improve. I still feel I'm leaving some time
on the table in a few key sections so that's something for
me to work on.
Race one 600 Supersport
I did well off the line and slotted into second place going
into turn one. With some luck I made my way to the front.
It was clear to me that there were a few sections I needed
to improve on and a few where we had a clear advantage. It
all came down to the last lap where traffic became part of
the plan. I managed to use the traffic to my advantage and
take the lead in turn three. Despite another attempt for a
lead change in turn four I was able to square the corner off
and lead the group to the stripe. A good win and huge second
place for my quasi team-mate Brian Pinkstaff.
Race two 600 Superbike
Another decent start saw me take the lead in the opening lap.
I held the lead and set the pace for the first three laps
while things started to settle in. It was shaping up to be
an epic scrap for the win but the rider in front of me developed
a problem and started to vent water as his bike was apparently
overheating. Despite my efforts to inform the marshals I had
to back off a little to avoid crashing in the water left from
his bike as I entered the turns. Luckily I managed to save
a near crash and took a frustrating second.
Race three Formula Ultra
In the ongoing saga of our Superbike program I opted to ride
the 600 yet again. I got a phenomenal start and slotted myself
into fifth place. As it was wet I took the first few laps
relatively easy to get a feel for the available traction and
for the rear intermediate tire to come in. By the third lap
I was feeling good and started to chip away at the leaders.
I managed to reel them in by almost three seconds when a rider
crashed in front of me in turn eight. We were both very lucky
that I didn't hit him. With that they brought out the red
flag and I managed third.
Again, thanks to all my sponsors, friends
and family for their tremendous support. Without it, we wouldn't
be racing.
Stay tuned -
Oliver
