Day 4
Date: August 21st
Welcome to the third and final
installment of race reports from Mosport. I have to thank
all the fans that reached out and said hello over the past
four days. The response has been phenomenal. Thank you.
Also, I really need to thank Ian, Alex, Darren
and the entire Deeley Team for the opportunity to race here.
Im grateful.
Carrying on from the last report I was quite
excited to get on the bike this morning. The progress we had
made in yesterday's race gave us an indication for some changes
today and I had the opportunity to test them in morning practice.
Unfortunately, a rider on the Ruthless Racing team (among
the top five in points), suffered an "electrical problem"
with his XR1200. The team had to make the decision to pull
my bike and have him race it. Tough situation for everyone
involved and Im empathetic to their position. I would
be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in not being able
to showcase the level I feel we were at, but when the greater
good is at stake you just have to roll with it. And going
with my everything happens for a reason view on
life I think I know why. I was able to watch and announce
the race from the control tower and was blown away with how
close and exciting the racing was. It was a six rider battle
for the win with massive lead changes and passes. In the end
it was a great opportunity to get another perspective on racing.
It was one of the best races of the day and must be meeting
Harley Davidson Canada's vision for the series. They are infusing
the Canadian series with a professional show and exciting
racing which is good for the sport no matter the brand.
Thanks everyone for tuning in.
